Repetition

This photo of a diet pill bottle shows the type of advertising called Repetition. People use repetition because while you are watching a commercial, you may not be paying that much attention to what they are doing, like if you are cooking supper or something else along those lines, but your ears are tuned in to every last word on the TV, they keep repeating the name of the product so that it sticks into your head and even later on while you are trying to think of the name of the product you were hearing about the name is so burned into your brain that you couldn't forget it if you tried. But I think that companies use this type of ad for that specific reason...if they can get the name of their product to stay up in your head, they feel that there is a better chance of you to buy their product instead of someone else's.

Emotional

This picture is a type of ad that is known as Emotional, because it uses this little, cute, soft puppy to make it seem like their product is soft, and stuff like that. And it makes people want to get this product, because after seeing the commercial or ad for it they may get this warm and fuzzy feeling inside and only buy it because that puppy on the front of the toilet paper wrapping is just so adorable. The company probably make a lot of money from getting this little puppy to do cute things in front of a camera. And they aren't the only company that does this...a lot of others do it too.

Testimonial

Many people have seen the proactiv solution commercials. Jessica Simpson among other actresses say that they use this product. She says on the commercials that she takes it everywhere with her, and all sorts of stuff like that, when you can clearly see in her pictures that says her face is broken out that she may have like one little pimple, or something like that. I think that commercials like this testimonial one, are fake. But the people who make it however think that if a famous person gets on TV and says that they use it, then I bet a lot of the people that call in, only do it because of the celebrity they had in the commercial.
